Job Title: Camp Lead II (Seasonal)

Organization: Education Is Ours – Camp Ed 2026

Location: Nashville, TN

Dates: June 1 – July 24, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Full-Time, Seasonal)

Compensation: Stipend (paid bi-weekly)


Position Overview

Camp Lead II staff play a critical role in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for campers. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth development, education, and hands-on learning. Camp Leads are responsible for guiding students academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring a fun and structured camp experience.


Key Responsibilities


Camper Safety & Supervision

  • Monitor and ensure the physical and emotional safety of all campers at all times

  • Maintain awareness of camper whereabouts and well-being during all activities

  • Enforce camp rules and procedures in a calm, respectful, and consistent manner

Student Support & Culture Building

  • Provide grace and guidance to students who are struggling with behavior or academic goals

  • Model positive attitudes, patience, and effective conflict resolution strategies

  • Foster an inclusive and respectful camp culture where all students feel valued and supported

Instruction & Engagement

  • Design and lead engaging, hands-on activities that support growth in reading, writing, and math

  • Adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and styles

  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, campers, and program leaders

  • Collaborate with team members to create a cohesive and engaging camp experience

  • Share observations and feedback on camper progress and behavior when appropriate

Professional Expectations

  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled shifts

  • Serve as a positive role model in conduct, speech, and attitude

  • Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols


Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about working with youth

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in education, childcare, camps, or youth programs preferred

  • Ability to lead activities and manage groups in a structured yet fun environment

  • Reliable, energetic, and team-oriented
