Set The Foundation is a tutoring program for kids performing at or below a third grade level(preK-3rd). Our focus is on building a strong academic base, so that, students feel confident when learning new concepts. Students often struggle grasping new ideas because of the gaps in their foundation, which doesn't allow them to see the connection across skills, ideas, and concepts. Set The Foundation's one-on-one personalized instruction sets them up to succeed instead of playing catch up. Catching up can be tough, and often requires extra time and resources that many schools can't provide. That's why we team up with families to help create a solid academic foundation for their kids, and it’s not about homework help. Let us be a part of your village!

Personalized Tutoring
Our personalized tutoring model is ideal for youth who need a more tailored approach to learning. These sessions enable students to concentrate on the specific skills they need to improve upon. A strengths analysis will be conducted to identify the student's strengths and weaknesses in both reading and math. Based on these results, a Foundational Plan will be developed to target the skills that require enhancement. Parents will have the opportunity to choose which skills they want to prioritize and determine the frequency of sessions. Once a mutually agreed-upon plan is in place, we will begin Setting The Foundation to your child's success!
Peer to Peer
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) tutoring enables students to support one another in mastering commonly overlooked skills. Each P2P skills lab addresses a range of competencies, enhancing students' foundational abilities while providing opportunities for social emotional learning. These labs occur twice a month on Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM, with all materials provided along with a light snack. The prices for Peer-to-Peer sessions differ based on the topic.
